Hello!

I am Abrielle – a young creative and entrepreneur invested in Experience Design for users, services, products, and physical spaces

“Abrielle – That’s Gabrielle without the G.”

– Me

As a child, I was disapproving of my name because it was different and uncommon. As I grew up, I began to see the opportunity my name had in being unique to me. Today I celebrate my uniqueness and implement it in my authentic lifestyle. As a coach, I recognize the confidence booster in believing in yourself and your name. As a UX-er, I understand the necessity to create authentic experiences for every user. I strive to do just that.

Currently

Work: I currently am a User Experience Designer at Gravity Works Design and Development of Lansing, Michigan. My work often involves strategizing content integration, user flows, user research, training new users on Drupal, and much more.

Business: I founded Verum Esse, LLC summer of 2022 to pursue my passion of being a Certified Professional Coach through iPEC to help young adults with succeeding in finding their purpose in this crazy world. If that sounds like you, check out my work. I also host in-person Conscious Conversations at East Lansing Public Library every last Tuesday of the month at 7pm.

Reading: Think Like a Monk: Train Your Mind for Peace and Purpose Every Day by Jay Shetty. Also highly recommend my past reads – Atomic Habits, Sapiens, The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, The Good Ancestor, 7 Levels of Energy Leadership, and Deep Work

Fun hobbies: Gym resident of Planet Fitness, facilitator of Conscious Conversations with Third Nature (formerly Startup Island), an artist affiliate of Opportunity Arts specializing in visual arts, and trying out traditional Middle Eastern dance (or belly dancing) with Habibi Dancers

A Little About Me

Early life: I was brought up in the small town of Portland, MI where I attended a private K-12 school. It was there that I developed a passion for design, creativity, and learning. Being with a class of only twenty students, I learned the values of collaboration, understanding, and empathy early on. When I was not in school, you could find me playing guitar or piano, bowling a 190, throwing shotput or discus, Irish dancing, clearing brush, or trying something new, like making candles. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to travel Europe, Asia, and Central America discovering rich cultures, fascinating architecture, different landscapes, and of course delicious food. In my next life, I would love to be a bartender on the beaches of the Caribbean.

College: After graduation in 2017, I attended Michigan State University with the hopes of becoming a Neurologist. After the first semester, I knew my talents lied in another direction. I made the change to Media and Information focusing on Human-Computer Interaction, giving me the opportunity to make tech work for the users -both consumers and providers- and give them a product they enjoy using over and over. I added on minors of Graphic Design and Entrepreneurship the following year and picked up more hobbies, including quilting, painting, and designing an interactive LED light display that currently resides at the MSU Engineering Building.

Experiences: I participated in two Startup Weekends as an aspiring entrepreneur. I also attended three Third Nature (formerly Startup Island) trips, a personal and professional growth program, and later became a Certified Facilitator through their program. I am currently training to become a Certified Professional Coach with additional certifications in Energy Leadership™ Index Master Practitioner and
a COR.E Dynamics™ Specialist.

Jobs: During my third year at MSU, I held a research position at the Behavior, Information, and Technologies Lab focusing on human social interactions in online communication platforms. I also had the opportunity to work with Michigan Virtual on their Customer Experience team in Lansing facilitating beta testing for a new online credentials platform for educators. I later worked in Customer Services at RCP Artist Services in Portland, Michigan specializing in fine art scanning and printing, photo restoration, custom framing, and digital design work.
